Turning 39 years old
I'm just getting started.
Last week, I turned 39. There’s a lot to celebrate.
I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. I’m the lightest I’ve been in years. I’ve built a great, rewarding career in technology. I have a wonderful family and close friends who show up for me.
Despite all of that, the work continues.
Stress eating is my biggest anchor. The thing that holds back my health and fitness goals more than anything else. The mental health challenges of modern life are real. Juggling work, kids, health, relationships, and ambitious projects often feels impossible.
But here’s what’s also true: I’ve got this. I’m all in.
I’m cooking healthy meals. I work with a trainer on weight training and nutrition. I’m always learning — new health habits, new fitness strategies. I show up as a present father and husband. I bring my whole self to work every day. I’m back to writing this newsletter so I can inspire and help others like me turn their lives around.
And in a few short weeks, I’m taking on my most ambitious fitness challenge yet: biking 100 miles at Ride Across Wisconsin.
39 years in, I’m the best version of myself. And I'm just getting started.
